On Chromebook, Chrome Browser is the default browser. So whenever you search for on the Chrome browser, it searches through google.com – the default search engine.
You have the option to change the default search engine to a different one. However, the Chromebook only supports Google, Bing, and Yahoo as search engines.
Change the Default Search Engine on Chromebook
Now you can, follow the below steps to change the default search engine to another search engine on Chromebook. Let’s go:
Step 1: Click the “Quick Settings Panel” in the lower right corner of your screen. Then click on the gear icon to open the “Settings” application.

Step 2: You’ll see the settings window. Click on the “Search and Assistant” tab located on the left side of your screen. Then select “Search” from the menu on the right side of your screen.

Step 3: Click the “Preferred Search Engine” option to change the default search engine.

Step 4: It will open the search engine settings option. From the drop-down menu select your preferred search engine, next to the search engine used in the address bar option.

For example, if I want to change it to Bing, I will select Bing from the drop-down menu. Now, whenever I search for anything on the Chrome browser, it will search through the Bing search engine.
